Two parts to this post! (Yes, long post :D)
*
OPEN HAUS
I've taken to spelling 'house' like Lady Gaga! 'Haus' of Gaga you see. Anyway, yesterday was Open House! Woke up at five fifty five ('five fifty five' is aesthetically pleasing) and took a teksi to school~ Anyway rawr, had rifle practice with rifle people for a while and then went to NP room tweedledee.
Briefing then set-up!
~ Erm, mobile duty was fine? Tiring 'cause all we did was walking around the perimeter of the first floor xD and talking to people, bringing them to our booths, introducing NP. But after a while Yu Qi and I discovered that talking to people about NP would just disinterest them in what we'd to say, so we decided to focus on NYGH instead! After all, that's what Open House is for what.
We totally came up with a template for the talking.
Yu Qi: Hi -bright smile- Are you interested in Nanyang?
Random person and her friendly parent: Yes...?
Yu Qi: Do you want to know more about Nanyang?
Random person and her friend parent: Yeah...?
Yu Qi: Okay! -beams at me-
Me: -beams back- -beams at random person and her parent- Nanyang Girls' High School is a female school (-.-) with 93 years of history!
-talks about the streaming at the end of secondary two-
-addresses parents' concerns and questions-
-talks about NP- (It's always Yu Qi who starts this because I don't dare to, of fear of parents' reactions D:)
Some people were actually genuinely interested in NP, like seriously :O but it's 'cause of the CCA points -_- mostly. Yet the reactions (compared to last year's D:) were not bad :D I think we were rather successful in that aspect. Also Yu Qi is really bad at choosing which kind of people to approach, zomg -.- she went to talk to two bimbos (ahaha I'm stereotyping) vain-looking people who were wearing like purple shorts (the Eurasian/chio one!) and her friend who wore tights and a flowery skirt. Seriously, cough. But surprisingly (okay so I stereotyped them :X) they were polite and stuff, even though they were obviously not very interested in NP (they like choir/dance). You know, I prefer people like that who are open about their interested CCAs but who STILL KEEP AN OPEN MINDSET ABOUT OTHER CCAS than the parents who take one lingering look reeking of act-superiority at our attire, then snobbishly saying, "sorry, we need to eat/look for ___/go". Like wtf.
Anyway it's a normal occurrence and I should be used to it huffpuff but I cannot stand their atas attitude!
Ermz.
After a few rounds of introducting NYGH to people, I was really very high and said to Yu Qi,
"they should totally let us introduce Nanyang to the pupils lor! We're better than the PSLs!"
(no offence to PSLs. I am deluded.)
and Yu Qi gave me a -_- (sorry, there is no other way to fully describe her expression) look, and she said,
"i'm a PSL"
which I totally forgot about hahaha! LOL awkward cough. Anyway I met a few classmates who were taking people on school tours! Go 213 ^^
Some other interesting (okay not really...) people we talked to/attempted to talk to:
1. Yu Qi approached a random girl with a messy ponytail and a jacket and a total Chinese dancer look (I am very stereotypish zomg) and asked "Hello, are you interested in Nanyang". I was somewhere behind them 'cause I was not looking forward to the girl's reaction (I thought she'd be dao and stuffz). To my horror/amusement, Yu Qi ran back to me in embarrassement and said that the girl was an ex-Nanyang girl omg! Total throwfacenez 'cause she turned back bemusedly! Like we were some tiny cute juniors! (Which we are.)
2. Yu Qi approached a girl and her father (who had a slight angmoh accent) and this father was totally interested in what we'd to say :D I love these kind of people too! It shows their genuine interest in Nanyang and also their open-mindedness in facing us! Even though Yu Qi was holding an NP poster she plucked off the wall (apparently it's easier to introduce NP. Which is true, actually :O) and grinning madly hehheh.
3. A girl we cornered at the Science block (and her sister who was chao cute and who was looking at us with a O.O expression all the time xD)! At that time we were chao high like !@#% and brought her on an actual school tour (we even pointed out the guzheng people and stuffz LOL? And Green Club! And CO!) until we reached the NP booth. This girl didn't try to shut us up or anything and just listened! (Or blanked us out, I wouldn't know ._. but still :D)
4. One random dude called me a "Nanyang policewoman" (in Chinese) much to my horror and asked me where the Lecture Theatre was. In Chinese. Thankfully my Chinese standard is at least slightly beyond that and I managed to point him to the right direction ._.
Hmm what else? Oh yeah we did mobile duty for ages before break! I love mobile duty actually especially with people like Yu Qi who are very... buyaolian. As in in a good way.
Break was good? It was normal lor: eat/drink then mobile duty somemore!
Now I shall talk about rifle performances! Some erm, technical difficulties during our first performance ._. which was kinda sucky but never mind! Because we got to make up for that after our second performance time slot.
(Am I coherent? Probably not.)
Han Yi says Sorry Sorry is stuck in her head but she didn't see us -.- LOL. Anyway I think the first time I screwed up but the second one I was better? And screwed up less? Overall of course we could've done lots lots better :D but I still think we did our bestest and whoosh go NYNP!
Hmm. I need to talk about ma'ams' chocolate ice-cream. They bought us you know :D which is really nice of them and rawr.
-pause-
Ting Ting and Sabrina disturbed me twice zomg :O
-pause-
Okay nao I'm gonna say something that will make all of you FREAKING JEALOUS TO THE MAX! Mdm Heng, our very very nice and awesome principal, gave NYNP like lotsa (100?) chocolates 'cause she thinks we worked very hard (which we did ahem ahem) and our squad (and 42 ma'ams) got like FOUR EACH?! Three after we attempted (key word is attempted) to give ma'ams one each. But they refused to take it! Why! D: D: D:! But was still epicfunny LOL. We got sir on our side but then I think he was caught in between us so he gave our chocolates to the teachers in the end LOL haha xD
Anyway in your face, classmates :D!
After that squadmates and I changed and sat at the canteen and sang songs retardedly!
Went home~ and slept until Sunday. Seriously o.o I was drained to the max?
TODAY
Nothing much actually. I find myself getting more and more poseuresque, you know, like acting American?! It's subconscious but today I found myself saying "I dig that"?! Like who says "dig" in normal conversation?! Me, apparently! Why?! I don't even like, watch Glee! This is disturbing.
:(
Also I am getting more vain hmph. I really am beginning to wonder if I've a split personality because... at school/NP I'm really quite... not like that. I still love drama and like to act weird but not like this. And then when shopping I start to act like a bimbo.
-pause yuqi don't say anything-
So: Am I Fiona or... Fayfay (zomg did I just come up with that)?
Dumdeedum lion dance in the street (I hear it from the 8th floor). Reminds me of DALT :D
P.S. This post is also schizophrenic~ Two parts to it do you see?
